Scorpion

Ok, so my mom has the girls for the whole weeks, so I have a little more time to blog.

Last week, I went into the kitchen to do the dishes (one of my favorite things to do....sarcasm) and as I reached in the sink I noticed something move. As I picked up the cookie sheet to get a better look, I saw that it was a real, live scorpion as long as my index finger!! I have never seen a scorpion in real life....EVER. So, naturally I start screaming and jumping up and down like a little girl in the middle of the kitchen. Oh, and my hubby conveniently is out of town. So, no option to just call him in to "take care" of it.

So, my first instinct is to start spraying it with 409. This only made it mad. It started to try to climb up out of the sink. Me, still squealing like a little girl, starts getting the heebie jeebies! So, I looked around for something to squish it. The first thing I was able to grab was a spatula and finally squished it. Eeeewwww!! It still gives me the shivers!!

I checked all of our beds that night two or three times to make sure there wasn't any of his friends waiting for us....

Boobs *Viewer's Discretion is advised* :o)

I took a shower today with Ava, like we do every now and then and she looked at me and said, "Mommy, I have little boobies and you have hanging boobies!"

Oh my, how observant she is...

Oh Brother!

The girls and I were in the bathroom playing make up, and in walks Matthew wearing his sister's dress up heels wanting to participate in all the fun. Poor baby just wants to be included in what his sister's and Mommy are doing. So, Daddy tried to take him in the other room to do "boy" stuff, while we played.

Future Jobs, again...

So, we were in the car listening to the Christian radio station and the girls were asking questions like, "Are they singing about Jesus?" & "Do they all sing about Jesus?" I said yes, and Lydia said, "Maybe that's what I'll do when I grow up; sing about Jesus." I said, "That would be great!" Then, Ava chimes in. I naturally expect her to say, "I'm going to sing about Jesus, too," because she always wants to do the same thing as her sister, but not this time! Ava said, "Not me. I want to work at Subway!"

Still? Oh dear....

The Noodle Parade

So, I'm in the kitchen wipping up some homemade frosting (because I didn't have any store bought in the pantry) for a cake that I was making (because I just wanted some cake) and thinking that the girls are playing so nicely together with their brother, I didn't bother checking on them....big mistake....I thought they got some of our parishable groceries out of the pantry to play "store," like cans of veggies and some pasta. Well, little did I know that they had a great idea to have a parade and to open all of the pasta boxes and throw the pasta all around the house like candy at a parade!! Sprinkled all around every single room of the house were fettecini, spegetti, penne and angel hair.....EVERYWHERE!!!! While I appreciate their wonderful little imaginations, I did not appreciate the HUGE mess all over the house....

Update

Ok, I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while things have been a little crazy around here! Spring Break kind of bled into this week....I know, I know, bad Mommy! I did actually make it to the end of the month with homeschooling, it just became more and more relaxed the further we got into it. We are more of a hands on family than sit-down-and-read-this family! I think it will get easier once I have the kindergarten curriculum!

I'm still praying for God's guidance as the decision time is quickly approaching for school or homeschool. Please, pray for me!
